The syngonium or arrowhead vine (syngonium podophyluum) is an easy-care, pest-resistant tropical houseplant with heart-shaped leaves. It is distantly related to the philodendron and has similar care needs: partial shade, minimal watering and very little maintenance otherwise.

Here are the main care requirements for growing arrowhead vine: Keep the plant in bright but diffused light. Plant in well-draining potting soil to avoid root rot. Let the plant dry out between waterings. Situate arrowhead vine in a humid room, such as a bathroom or kitchen. Train arrowhead vine up a pole or moss stick.

To ensure good water drainage, place a drainage layer of broken clay, stones or expanded clay on the bottom of the pot. Then plant the Syngonium in high-quality soil, such as our Plantura Organic All Purpose Compost. As Syngonium prefers a slightly acidic environment, our soil with a pH of to is ideal.

June 20, by Victoria Wilson Syngonium plants, also known as arrowhead vines, require very little specialized care when kept as houseplants. Provide indirect light and maintain moist soil at all times, misting occasionally. Allow plenty of space for the vines to grow or prune to shape the plant.
